Article 395 repeals the Indian Independence Act, 1947, and the Government of India Act, 1935, together with all enactments amending or supplementing the latter Act, but not including the Abolition of Privy Council Jurisdiction Act, 1949. The Government of India Act, 1935 This act ended the system of dyarchy introduced by the Government of India Act, 1919 and provided for the establishment of a Federation of India to be made up of provinces of British India and some or all of the Princely states. The Indian Independence Act, 1947 It partitioned British India into the two new independent dominions of India and Pakistan. The Act received the royal assent on 18 July 1947, and thus modern-day Pakistan and India came into being on 15 August. The Abolition of Privy Council Jurisdiction Act, 1949 This Act enlarged the appellate jurisdiction of Federal Court and also abolished the old system of filing direct appeals from the High Court to the Privy Council with or without Special Leave. In 1949, the Abolition of Privy Council Jurisdiction Act was passed by the Indian Government The Government of India Act, 1919 It was passed to expand participation of Indians in the government of India. The Act provided a dual form of government for the major provinces. In each such province, control of some areas of government, the "transferred list", were given to a Government of ministers answerable to the Provincial Council. The 'transferred list' included agriculture, supervision of the local government, health, and education. The Provincial Councils were enlarged.
