If the person remained at x location he would have heard the noise at same time interval i.e. 60 min. As he moved to location y he heard the noise after 63 min. Difference of time = 63 - 60 = 3 min = 3 × 60 = 180 sec (∵ 1 min = 60 sec) We know that, Distance = Speed × Time Distance between x and y = 267 × 180 = 48060 m = 48060/1000 = 48.060 km (∵ 1 km = 1000 m) ∴ Distance between x and y = 48.060 km
